Cognition gets offers at $70 billion to $80 billion, weeks after raising at $48 billion
Cognition, the maker of the Devin coding and owner of Windsurf, has received investor offers valuing it at $70 billion to $80 billion and is weighing a round before the end of the year, Business Insider reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter. Talks are early. Cognition raised more than $2 billion at $48 billion in September, and its annualized revenue has reportedly nearly doubled since, to about $900 million.
At those offers investors would be paying roughly 80 to 90 times that revenue. The bid comes the same day GitHub said its own routing system matches top coding agents at half the cost, which is the competitive pressure the price has to survive. SourcesBC
