Oracle will rent out Google's TPUs, the first cloud outside Google to do it
Oracle said Tuesday at its AI World conference that Google's processing units will be available on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure starting in 2027, with capacity ramping over several years. Oracle says it is the first hyperscale cloud other than Google to offer them. It also plans Cerebras and SambaNova hardware on its cloud in 2027. Pricing and committed capacity were not disclosed.
Google spent a decade keeping its chips inside its own cloud. Selling them through a rival's data centers, the same week OpenAI is reported to be buying outright, turns the TPU from a reason to use Google Cloud into a product competing directly with Nvidia's. SourcesAC
