US officials believe an executive close to Jensen Huang was passing information to Beijing, the Times reports
American intelligence agencies concluded that Alice Huang, an executive associated with the Singapore-based chip buyer Megaspeed, cultivated a close relationship with Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang to pass information to China, The New York Times reported Thursday. The two are not related. President Trump was briefed on the findings about a year ago and did not act on them, the Times reports, and Jensen Huang has not received a defensive briefing.
Megaspeed is Nvidia's largest customer in Southeast Asia and has been under a Commerce Department investigation since late 2024 over whether it helped move restricted chips to China. Nvidia said Huang's interactions with her were not unusual. China's embassy called the allegations groundless. None of the intelligence findings has been made public, and the account rests on officials speaking to the Times. SourcesBB
