A Musk-funded super PAC is phoning Texas voters with an AI "virtual staffer"
Lone Star Liberty, a backing Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate race with $10 million from Elon Musk, is calling voters with an AI voice named "Jennifer" that asks whom they support and adjusts its pitch to the answer, CNN reported Thursday. The calls accuse the Democrat, James Talarico, of taking "$11 million" from data-center interests. Talarico said it is "pretty rich that they are using AI bots to attack me over data centers."
CNN found the same voice in use by at least two other PACs this cycle, and the call-blocking service Nomorobo, which first detected the calls on October 23rd, says they came from dozens of numbers and reached a relatively small number of landlines. Interactive AI voter contact is now running in a top Senate race four days before the midterms. SourcesBC
