New York City parents push to extend the school AI ban to high schools
About two dozen students, teachers and advocates rallied before a meeting of New York City's school board on Wednesday night to extend the system's AI moratorium, which covers grades up to eighth, to high schools, NY1 reported. A Hunter College High School student presented a petition with more than 1,000 signatures. A high-school AI pilot covering about 5% of students starts in November, and the deputy chancellor said it will go ahead, with families able to ask for alternative assignments. SourcesB
