Chrome's autofill can now read your Gmail

Google is rolling out an opt-in Chrome feature that uses Gemini to pull details from Gmail to fill web forms: flight confirmation numbers, tracking and order numbers, membership IDs, addresses and card numbers. It is rolling out to US users on desktop and in the Gemini in Chrome apps on iOS and Android.

Google says sensitive data is encrypted and gave no further detail. A form-filler with access to your inbox is also a form-filler a malicious page might try to trick into revealing it, and Google has not described how it guards against that. SourcesB
