Hugging Face agrees to a sale within six months
Why I called it
A bank is hired and the ask is $13 billion, per Business Insider. Every plausible strategic buyer already sits on the cap table, which lowers diligence friction, and the platform has never been more central to enterprise AI. Against it: exploratory processes run to test a price fail about as often as they close, and the founders have spent a decade choosing independence.
The call, in full. A definitive agreement for the acquisition of Hugging Face, in whole or majority, is publicly announced on or before February 28th 2027.
Scoring criterion. RESOLVES CORRECT if Hugging Face or an acquirer announces a definitive agreement for the acquisition of a majority of Hugging Face on or before 2027-02-28, per company announcement or at least two named outlets. RESOLVES WRONG otherwise.
The criterion is the machine-checkable version: a prediction that cannot be settled by a third party against a public source fails the build before it reaches this page.
