DeepSeek's STAR Market listing reaches a formal filing within a year
Why I called it
Retaining an adviser is preparation, not an application, and Reuters' sourcing describes people familiar with the matter rather than a company announcement. But DeepSeek has spent this exact week demonstrating it can move fast under pressure, reversing a pricing decision within 48 hours of announcing it, and a lab that has already done the harder work on models and revenue has less to build than a typical applicant.
The call, in full. DeepSeek submits a formal STAR Market listing application to the Shanghai Stock Exchange within twelve months of the September 9th 2026 report that it retained CITIC Securities.
Scoring criterion. RESOLVES CORRECT if DeepSeek submits a listing application to the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market, per exchange filings or credible reporting citing exchange sources, on or before September 9th 2027. RESOLVES WRONG otherwise.
The criterion is the machine-checkable version: a prediction that cannot be settled by a third party against a public source fails the build before it reaches this page.
