Nvidia's Anthropic investment closes at $5 billion or more
Why I called it
Reuters' sourcing puts the figure at up to $10 billion, on top of the Lambda and Nscale cloud commitments Nvidia already backs and the $1.5 billion SB Energy investment from the same playbook two weeks earlier. The pattern this year has been that reported ceiling figures for Nvidia's strategic investments tend to survive negotiation close to the headline number, not shrink toward a stake.
The call, in full. If Nvidia's reported anchor investment in Anthropic's IPO or an associated financing round closes, it closes at $5 billion or more.
Scoring criterion. RESOLVES CORRECT if Nvidia's confirmed investment in Anthropic's IPO or associated financing round, per company disclosure or credible reporting citing confirmed terms, is $5 billion or more, by March 31st 2027. RESOLVES WRONG if the investment closes below $5 billion or does not close by that date.
The criterion is the machine-checkable version: a prediction that cannot be settled by a third party against a public source fails the build before it reaches this page.
