SpaceX's Apollo-led chip financing closes at $30 billion or more
Why I called it
Lender appetite for chip-backed paper is the live question of the quarter. Waymo's debut loan was upsized from $3 billion to $5 billion on demand the same week, and Morgan Stanley sizes AI infrastructure's external financing need at $1.5 trillion by 2028. If the largest single chip-purchase package on record cannot close at three quarters of its target, the private-credit leg of the buildout is weaker than the headlines say.
The call, in full. The Apollo-led financing SpaceX is seeking for Nvidia chip purchases closes with total commitments of at least $30 billion by June 30th 2027.
Scoring criterion. RESOLVES CORRECT if, by 2027-06-30 23:59 UTC, at least one of FT, Bloomberg or Reuters reports that the SpaceX chip-financing package first reported October 6th 2026 (Apollo-led, for Nvidia chip purchases) has closed with total commitments of $30 billion or more. RESOLVES WRONG if it closes below $30 billion, is publicly abandoned, or has not closed by the deadline.
The criterion is the machine-checkable version: a prediction that cannot be settled by a third party against a public source fails the build before it reaches this page.
