Flock Safety announces involuntary layoffs by year-end
Why I called it
The program's decisions reached employees October 9th against a customer base that shed at least 214 city and county contracts since 2021, 90 of them this year. A person familiar with the company's finances told WIRED involuntary cuts are almost certain if the buyouts fall short, and voluntary programs at shrinking companies usually do fall short, because the employees who leave first are the ones who can.
The call, in full. Flock Safety conducts involuntary job cuts beyond its voluntary buyout program before December 31st 2026.
Scoring criterion. RESOLVES CORRECT if, by 2026-12-31 23:59 UTC, Flock Safety announces involuntary job cuts, or two independent established outlets report involuntary layoffs at the company beyond the voluntary separation program, citing the company or affected employees. RESOLVES WRONG otherwise.
The criterion is the machine-checkable version: a prediction that cannot be settled by a third party against a public source fails the build before it reaches this page.
