Lambda announces a round of $3 billion or more by year-end
Why I called it
TechCrunch, relaying the Wall Street Journal's reading of an investor letter, reported on October 6th that Lambda is raising up to $4 billion at $14.5 billion led by Coatue and Blackstone, after grew from $15 billion to $50 billion in three months. By our arithmetic one Anthropic commitment is 70% of that backlog. Private money has cleared every comparable AI-infrastructure round this autumn, including ones the public market refused, and an investor letter with named leads usually precedes a close. The risks are a smaller round and a repriced , which is why the thresholds sit below the headline.
The call, in full. Lambda announces, or two established outlets report as closed, a primary equity round of at least $3 billion at a pre-money valuation of at least $14 billion by December 31st 2026.
Scoring criterion. RESOLVES CORRECT if by 2026-12-31 23:59 UTC Lambda or a named lead investor announces, or at least two established outlets report as agreed or closed, a primary equity financing of $3 billion or more at a pre-money valuation of $14 billion or more. RESOLVES WRONG otherwise.
The criterion is the machine-checkable version: a prediction that cannot be settled by a third party against a public source fails the build before it reaches this page.
