Why I called it
DeepSeek's public communication-library README gives a mid-October commercial release plan while saying the reported performance used private proof-of-concept firmware. The concrete product and access route make a release more credible than an unspecific roadmap, but a vendor schedule can slip. This tests availability, not performance reproduction.
The call, in full. Huawei publishes its Q3 commercial Atlas 850E HDK release with an available download or application route by October 31st 2026.
Scoring criterion. RESOLVES CORRECT if, by 2026-10-31 23:59 UTC, Huawei's official support site or official release notes show the Q3 commercial Atlas 850E HDK release identified by the DeepEP-Ascend README as available, with a functioning download or application-for-access route. A public release announcement without an available access route, or a private PoC build, does not count. RESOLVES WRONG otherwise.
The criterion is the machine-checkable version: a prediction that cannot be settled by a third party against a public source fails the build before it reaches this page.
